Semi truck crash closes major Interstate for several hours Sunday

Sunday afternoon a semi truck driver lost control of his vehicle causing an accident that would leave the Interstate closed for several hours The driver reportedly was driving eastbound when he lost control and slammed into a concrete barrier. The force from the truck knocked down and moved five concrete barriers, which left the truck across the other side and in the other lanes of the roadway.

“This scenario is very dangerous always,” said one police officer. “Luckily nobody was hurt this time.” He added.

Sources said this type of incident often leads to multiple injuries and even death under the most desperate circumstances.

On July 25, 1967, a sixteen year old girl was walking on the sidewalk

On July 25, 1967, a sixteen year old girl was walking on the sidewalk near 315 Lenox Avenue, Oneida, New York. A truck was travelling on Lenox Avenue, lost control and struck a parked car. It then jumped the curb and drove onto the sidewalk where it hit the girl causing her to be pushed under the porch of a house. This accident caused her serious injury. Her mother filed a lawsuit against the driver of the truck for loss of her daughter’s services and medical and hospital bills.

The driver of the truck denied all allegations. He denied that it was his truck. He denied that he was driving the truck. He denied that he lived in New York City. His allegations of complete noninvolvement were too false as to cause the court to comment on the impropriety of his denials. There is no reason to believe that he is not responsible for the accident.

When the driver of the truck commented on the accident, he advised that he was heading east on Lenox Avenue when his truck struck a parked vehicle, went out of control, and jumped the curb. He advised that two girls walking on the sidewalk tried to run up steps of a porch and his truck hit the girls and shoved the girls and the steps under the porch.

Truck company owner being charged for a truck accident that killed 19 people and injured eight others

The owner of a truck company faces charges today for 19 deaths and 8 injuries in an accident involving his container truck.

A group of 25 people from New York City and Staten Island, who were traveling in a party bus to a wedding party, were unsuspectingly hit by a large container truck. The minivan was sideswiped and turned over, according to a witness.

19 of the people in the van died on impact according to police reports. Fire trucks and ambulances came quickly to the horrific scene and began to cut people out of the vehicle.

14 Dead as Tour Bus Slid into Pole

Fourteen people have been confirmed dead following a horrific crash of a tour bus in The Bronx, New York, over the weekend. The tour bus was returning from a night out for its passengers at the Mohegan Sun Casino in eastern Connecticut. The 40-year old bus driver survived the crash and had told investigators that a passing tractor-trailer had clipped the bus thereby causing him to lose control of the vehicle before overturning and skidding almost 500-feet into a highway sign whose support structure then sliced through the bus.

While the investigation is still ongoing, there are some who are not quite as certain of the bus driver’s accounts; Investigators have been hearing witness and survivor accounts of the bus having driving across the rumble strips multiple times before the bus overturned. Rumble strips are placed along the shoulders of many highways in order to alert drivers whenever they are leaving the travelled portion of the roadway and are heading for the edge of the pavement. This system is put into place in large part to “wakeup” drivers who may be beginning to nod off.

There were 32 people on board the bus when it crashed – The 14 who perished, 17 survivors, and the driver. Of the 17 passengers who survived the crash, there were five who were critically injured, two suffered serious injuries, and eleven who suffered only minor injuries.

Bus Swerved Before Crash

During their investigation of the tragic bus accident in the Bronx last weekend, investigators have learned that the bus swerved many times before overturning onto its side and skidding into a pole thereby killing fourteen people, a reporter has learned.

While many of the eyewitness accounts may vary depending on their recollection, most of them attest to the bus having swerved onto the rumble strips that are located on the shoulder of the highway multiple times before the bus crashed, a policeman was told. Rumble strips are placed on the side of the road in order to alert drivers whenever they drive near the edge of the pavement.

The bus driver has stated that the bus was clipped by a tractor-trailer, which caused him to lose control. Investigators have recovered a dash camera that was mounted on the front of the bus, as well as an engine-control module, so they may further investigate what was in front of the bus as well as the bus’ speed and other parameters to assist in their investigation. The engine-control module has been sent to a laboratory in Washington, D.C. The truck driver that is to have allegedly struck the bus has contacted the state police voluntarily and both he and his employer are cooperating with authorities. Authorities have also located both the trailer and the tractor that the bus driver alleges to have clipped the bus, and have taken them both in for analysis.

Tractor-Trailer Accident Hospitalizes Two

A tractor-trailer accident sent two people to the hospital and caused significant traffic delays, reported the Lawyer over the weekend. The 42-year old truck driver had reportedly dozed off and awoken as his truck was drifting from the roadway, and as he attempted to maneuver his truck back onto the road, it rolled over.

Passing motorists stopped and pulled both of the men from the vehicle, and both men were lying in the grass beside the road when first responders arrived on the scene. Both the driver and his 29-year old passenger were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and were reported to have only minor injuries. The driver and his passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The truck, it was learned, was carrying Sears-brand appliances, which did not spill from the truck during the accident. Fortunately, this was a one-vehicle accident, which could have been much worse.

The accident tied up traffic for several minutes as work crews removed the vehicle from the roadway. This task was not easy for it required workers to remove a section of the guardrail before they could remove the truck. It is unclear as to whether or not workers replaced that section of guardrail immediately or returned to replace it at a later time. It required a 12-man towing crew to remove the damaged truck.

Truck Accident Could Bring Legal Troubles

A routine morning trip to school turned into a tragedy on Tuesday morning outside of Louisville, when a dump-truck driver collided with the back of a school bus on its morning route. Thirteen students from the Jefferson County Public School System, along with the driver of their bus, were injured and transported to local area hospitals for treatment, reported a source who is connected to the case. The bus was traveling north on Interstate 65, and the truck accident occurred in the vicinity of the Watterson Expressway.

Kosair Children’s Hospital received the injured children, all of whom were from 6 to 9 years old. Doctors at the hospital said that the students were suffering from minor back pain and mild neck injuries. While many of the students were taken directly to the hospital, others were taken on to school. Of the group that actually arrived at the school, many subsequently reported head and neck pain and were taken to the hospital as well. The Lawyer reporting on the case mentioned that these injuries are characteristic of a highway speed collision, and alluded to the fact that these types of truck accidents can frequently be more deadly.

Additional information about the accident was not available at the time of this article’s publication, pending the completion of the investigation. Police have not indicated whether the driver of the dump truck will be charged with a crime, although a witness said it was likely in a case like this that criminal charges could be filed. These accidents are uncommon in Staten Island and New York City.

5 killed in Texas accident

Three children and two adults were killed in a head on crash that took place in Texas. The collision resulted in a fiery explosion, Police told a reporter. Police authorities indicate that the accident happened this past Sunday afternoon. The adult in the truck accidentwas driving a Volkswagen vehicle when it got out of control and slammed into a dump truck head on.

Everyone in the vehicle was killed as soon as the impact happened. Three of the passengers were children ranging from age two to eight; two boys and one girl. The driver was the children’s grandmother. It was reported to the TV station that the other adult in the truck accident was the driver of the dump truck who was also killed in the accident. The dump truck was on its way to a garbage dump and that makes this truck accident a commercial truck accident. Any truck accident which happens in the act of work is considered to be a commercial truck accident.

The witness said that it seemed as if the truck driver’s death came at the hands of the fire and not necessarily the impact itself. The Police said, “The truck driver was on the phone with his wife when the crash happened.

Truck driver drowned in accident

An accident occurred in Bath County on Monday, where a chart driver was killed when his semi truck went over Highway 64 overpass. The semi truck landed in a creek below the overpass and the truck driver was unable to get out, therefore he died from drowning.

The coroner in Bath County told a reporter that the day was very windy in the area at the time. He thought that the high winds were a contributor to the truck driver’s death. Police also reported that the truck driver was on his way to Virginia. Eventually he would have wound up in New York City and then, Westchester County.

He had left Detroit with auto parts loaded to his semi-truck. He was on the job and had not anticipated that anything would happen. It was when rescuers began to search that they found the truck driver’s body that Thursday night approximately 7 p.m.

Woman dies in truck accident

Police told a reporter that a woman was killed on Saturday morning after her pickup truck crashed into a tractor-trailer in Lindley town. The woman was from Corning, which is a town nearby. The truck accident happened approximately 5:40 p.m. between Stowell Road and Route 15, which was close to the highway as police told the lawyer. The woman was 54 years old, and she was on her way to visit her family. The car got out of control, while it was driving east on Stowell Road.

She was unable to stop the car when she got to the intersection. Therefore, the car skidded on the road and careened into the front of the tractor-trailer that was coming in the opposite direction. At least, this is what the source believes. The man that was driving the tractor-trailer was 60 years of age, and he was driving from Trenton, Ontario. The truck driver was not able to stop the truck in time to save the woman. So the tractor trailer hit the pickup truck that the woman was driving and it struck the side where the passenger sits. Accidents like this are common in Long Island but not in New York City.

According to the media, the woman was dead on the scene. The coroner also confirmed the woman’s death on the scene. There was an eight-year-old in the passenger seat at the time of the truck accident. However, that eight-year-old passenger was not seriously hurt. He was treated at a hospital because of complaining about pain in his neck, and his back. The police reported to the public that they are continuing their investigation into this matter. At this time, no traffic tickets will be issued, according to the police report.
