A tractor trailer driver is in jail on drunk driving charges after his truck overturned and caught fire just of a highway in Miller County, Georgia.
According to reports, both the driver and the Long Island passenger safely exited the vehicle.
First responders to the Saturday evening crash were police and firefighters. They stayed on the scene until Sunday afternoon when they could finally remove the wreckage.
A tanker truck almost completely full of milk drove straight off the road when attempting a curve along Route 19 in Bergen, New York, Tuesday.
The 76-year-old driver from Perry in Wyoming County died in the crash. He was driving the milk delivery truck for a local milk delivery company.
A state police sergeant said the road was wet. “If you make even the slightest mistake you get off that soft shoulder; it’s pretty unforgiving.” A cop pointed out that the shifting load of milk would have made recovering from a mistake that much more difficult.

A bicyclist was involved in a serious traffic accident along County Route 214. The county sheriff’s office closed the road to investigate the cause of the accident.
A report obtained by the press has found that the bicyclist was an 18 year old male. He was traveling along Ryan Road at about 2:30 PM. When he reached the intersection with CR 214 he was hit by the oil truck. It’s not clear whether or not the accident was caused by the bike rider, or tank driver.

The surviving teen from Brooklyn was airlifted from the crash site to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries, sources explained to a doctor. His injuries were not as severe as was originally thought.

In Missouri, for example, there has been a long stretch of fatal 18-wheeler accidents in the past six months. Attorneys there are advocating for stricter enforcement from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in Missouri.
In one particular crash that was reported recently, a truck driver, who was distracted only for what he claimed was only a moment, drifted to another lane and caused a pileup of seven cars. The crash reportedly caused two deaths and several serious injuries.
