Police told a source that a service truck crashed this morning, approximately 10:30 a.m., on Highway 80 East. Unfortunately, the truck accident resulted in the death of the truck driver.

During the accident, the service truck flipped over and landed on its side, while it crashed over in the median. One of the axles on the truck flew in the air before the truck actually crashed in the center of the main lane on the highway.

Police told the source that they were not sure of the cause of this accident and so they are still continuing their investigation of the accident. There were no witnesses to the accident, therefore, the police investigation is ongoing and is going to be very limited, because the police does not have much to work on except the accident scene.

In Idaho, a tanker truck carrying fuel exploded in Picabo this past Wednesday. The truck accidentcaused the death of a resident who lived in Cary. His name was not mentioned in the report that was given to local and national newspapers. This man worked with a fuel tanker company in Idaho. He drove the truck and transported Fuel from one truck to the other.

The Police told the newsmen and women that that during the exchange of the fuel from one truck to the next, that is when his truck caught fire, and everything exploded. It so happened that the deceased went on top of the fuel truck to transfer the fuel to the next truck. It was when he was on the truck that it exploded and killed him immediately. The crew that came to remove his body could not do so until the flames and the heat subsided. It was not until 7 p.m. before they could remove his charred body. As a matter of fact fatal truck accidents are likely to occur in areas with many highways and winding roads. They do not happen very often in urban areas like The Bronx and Brooklyn where there are not many highways and winding roads where trucks are apt to speed and become dangerous and have accidents which kill people.

The other driver, who was close to the explosion, received minor injuries when his jacket caught fire. He was able to extinguish the fire. He refused to go to the hospital for treatment.

No one quite knows what made a man drive his Volvo right into the path of a Mack Truck. Although he was from another country, he surely would have known that the huge truck could not stop on time to avoid hitting him.

It appears that the man was at a stop sign along a highway and was trying to turn left onto it. He was behind a Dodge truck, also turning left. The Dodge made the turn and the man tried to follow right behind him, but instead of making the turn safely, he turned right into the path of an eastbound tri-axle truck and the truck accident ensued , reported the police.

The trucker had no place else to go and could not stop in time, explained the authorities, although there were skid marks extending for at least 15 yards from where the trucker did apply the brakes in an attempt to stop before the truck accident occurred.

The Truck company and trucker involved in this fatal truck accident had been sued no less than five times before this latest incident, said the police. There were two other people in the same car the Marine recruits were in when this accident happened and it also involved five other vehicles and a motorcycle. In other words, it was a total mess.

The family of one of the deceased is seeking $20 million in punitive damages from the Truck company and a further $1 million in punitive damages from the trucker. They are also asking for $25,000 in compensatory damages and $17,000 in burial expenses. The lawsuit further states the Truck company had no business allowing the trucker to drive, given his string of serious traffic offenses and that they should have been aware of them, explained the observer.

The driver was convicted of drunk driving three times, as well as letting his daughter and other underage kids use drugs and/or alcohol in a motel room. He evidently lied on his application to get hired, pointed out the authorities.

Sometimes, bad things happen to good people and there seems to be no explanation for it. But then again, if you take a close look at some truck accident cases, there may be something else there just under the surface, waiting to be discovered.

This case was particularly heartbreaking, as it involved a 71-year old woman in a motorized wheelchair crossing at a marked intersection. She was struck and killed by a garbage truck driver who was initially charged with negligent homicide, a misdemeanor carrying up to two years prison time if convicted. When the case got to trial, the judge ruled that he should not stand trial for this charge, explained the observer. There is an appeal under consideration.

There are many things that could have happened in this case, not the least of which is that the woman in the wheelchair, despite seeing the truck, may have proceeded to cross anyway. Stranger things have happened and if she thought the truck had a lot of time to stop, she may have decided she had time to cross and he may not have had time to stop that large truck.

Five people are dead and 35 others are seriously injured as a truck overturned in Chin State, a man reported. The truck accident occurred on Friday at about 10:00a.m. local time, as the truck’s brakes apparently failed as it descended a steep hill that is near Lamzan Village and about five miles south of the closest town of Tedim. Chin State is located in the northwestern part of Myanmar.

The commercial truck was carrying a full load of cargo and about 50 passengers that had been picked up in Tedim earlier that morning. Approximately 45 minutes into the journey from Tedim to the Indian border is when the truck’s brakes failed, which resulted in the loss of life, including the truck’s owner and driver, according to a Lawyer. Four of those who died, were dead at the scene, while another died because of their injuries enroute to the local hospital. Miraculously, the eight children who were aboard the truck when it rolled over survived with no injuries.

This is not the first such truck accident in this area. This is the second accident in the area this week. There was another fatal accident nearby in November 2010, which claimed 17 lives. Including both of these accidents, it is concluded that up to about 24 people have died on this road in the past four months.

This fatality that took place in 2007 has recently been dealt with in court, where some of the charges involved were dismissed. However, the trucker driving the coal rig at the time of the accident is still facing other serious charges.

A 40-year old coal trucking company owner was initially charged with permitting homicide by vehicle, murder by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 36-year old woman, reported a New York Trucking Accident Lawyer. These are the charges that have been dismissed, but there are still six summary charges remaining.

The woman was attempting to make a turn onto the highway when the driver of a coal truck, a 39-year old man rear ended her car, killing her on impact and seriously injuring her son. The driver was working for the coal trucking company owner charged in this debacle, explained the New York City Trucking Accident Lawyer.

Four years ago, a man lost his son and two grandchildren in a crash on M-40 in front of the Tulip City Truck Stop. Afterward, he wondered if it was possible to do anything to improve the busy road’s safety.

He now has hope that just that will happen. And that hope comes in the form of the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council who has hired a consultant to conduct a study of a specific stretch of M-40. The study could lead to much needed safety improvements.

“We always felt all along that there were a lot of close calls (after that crash). We felt another (accident) was going to happen,” the father and grandfather said.

The weather took a turn for the worse in this case and when it did, the consequences were not pretty.

Freezing mist was falling on the highway and those traveling it were hard-pressed to get any traction. They even had a hard time going the designated speed limit, as the road conditions were so treacherous. Further back down the highway, five people were headed north in a Pontiac G5. On another road, up ahead of the Pontiac, was an empty logging truck and trailer just pulling out onto the highway and about to start heading south, explained the NY Trucking Accident Lawyer.

The Pontiac had no idea the truck was there, as they were climbing a hill. When they hit the top of the crest and realized the truck was right in front of them, they tried to slow their forward momentum down. The ice was too bad and the wheels spun out of control, sending the vehicle directly into the path of the logging truck.
